What is a debit bank card?

A debit card is a modern tool for convenient management of your own funds. It allows you not only to keep money on your account, but also to use it every day in the way you are used to. With a debit card, you can:

  • pay for purchases in stores and online;
  • withdraw cash from ATMs in Ukraine and abroad;
  • transfer funds to other cards or accounts;
  • pay for utilities and other regular payments;
  • top up your mobile phone or another person's account;
  • subscribe to services, pay in applications and services.

Unlike a credit card, a debit card works exclusively with your own funds - you do not use borrowed money, but only the money available on your account. Different types of debit cards are available at Raiffeisen Bank so that every customer can choose the best option depending on their needs - for daily expenses, savings, travel or salary payments.

The difference between debit and credit cards

When it comes to payment cards, there are usually two types: debit and credit cards. What is the difference?

A debit card is your current bank account. You can spend only the funds that are on your balance. It is suitable for paying salaries, pensions or social benefits, as well as for personal transactions.

A credit card gives you the opportunity to use the bank's credit limit to make purchases and transactions that exceed the amount available on your account. You use the funds, enjoy the benefits of the grace period and repay them to the bank within the established period, click on the link if you want to apply for a credit card.
